Apostille & Authentication

If you have a document intended to be used in a foreign country, you may need an apostille/authentication.

For free consultation on your unique situation, please call or text (714)-487-4197.

An apostille is needed when you use a document from one country in another country. The apostille verifies the authenticity of the signature, seal, and position of the notary who signed the document, not the content of the document itself.

Authentication and Apostille have the same purpose: to verify a document’s authenticity for use in other countries. An apostille applies to countries that signed the Hague Convention, while an authentication applies to countries that did not.

The Hague Convention is an international treaty that simplifies the process of authenticating documents for use in foreign countries. When dealing with countries that are not part of the Hague Convention, the process may involve additional steps.

To check if your country is part of the Hague convention, please consult the the official Hague Conference on Private International Law website.

Some documents may need to be translated as requested by the country that you are working with.
